Sugarcane Launch Range
Travel, Lodging and Logistics
In 2025, the Latin American Space Challenge will be hosted at the Sugarcane Launch Range (SLR) near Iacanga and Bauru, Brazil. Surrounded by sugarcane farms, the site is ideal for launching experimental rockets due to its safety, airspace control, location, and infrastructure. Access the SLR entrance on Google Maps by clicking here.
LASC highly recommend all participants stay in Iacanga or Bauru (SP) and surrounding cities. The nearest international commercial airports are Viracopos International Airport (VCP) and São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport (GRU).
From GRU, Tatuí is a four-hour drive on BR-374 - Rodovia Castelo Branco and SP-300 - Rodovia Marechal Rondon. Participants need to secure their own ground transportation during the event. The organizers are unable to provide shuttle services to and from planned activities at this time.
There is one main route to the SLR from Bauru and surrounding areas. The route takes about forty minutes on SP-321 - Rodovia Cezário José de Castilho.
Other potential routes that can be indicated by Google Maps, Waze or other app any be closed due to the road blockages to the event.
